Our Studio

The Hot Room Yoga studio in Hobart

The Hot Room

2 - 4 Gladstone Street, Battery Point Tasmania, Australia 7004

Set in Salamanca just down from St David’s park, the space has been curated with energy efficiency, the environment & our community at its heart. The studio is small but packs a mighty punch, from entry reception, through to change rooms & showers then through to the practice room itself.

Parking

On Gladstone St there’s 2 hour parking during the week & free parking on w/e’s. Bearing in mind, Saturday is market day & the area down near the studio is blocked off for the market. Bikram classes will be 6am & 6pm during weekdays (at least to start with) & morning & afternoon classes on the w/e, so hopefully not too much of an issue. During the day, best bet is the back of Salamanca Square up to 3 hrs parking until 10pm at night. I plan to have 9:30am & 4:15pm classes too, alternating daily (if that makes sense) & getting a park at those times might mean accessing the Salamanca Square car park.

Our Heating System

Infrared Panels

Stylish & efficient, infrared panels use radiant heat to warm the room creating a comfortable, natural feeling of warmth. Infrared heaters convert almost 100% of the electricity they consume into heat, making them one of the most efficient heating systems.

Instead of directly heating the air in a room, panels heat the objects in the room - walls, ceiling, floor & YOU.

Benefits of Infrared panels for heating:

  • Reduced energy use

  • Natural heat

  • 100% net zero carbon heating

  • Helps prevent mould and condensation

  • Maintenance free, long lifetime, over 95% recyclable

Flooring

The floor throughout the space is marmoleum, a sustainable resilient floor made of natural raw materials such as linseed oil, wood flour, limestone, resin, and jute. With no use of synthetic materials like PVC. These raw materials are obtained from their natural habitat, where they grow and renew themselves, often in just 12 months. Marmoleum is

  • Low in emission, free from plasticizers and synthetic additives

  • Truly CO₂ neutral cradle to gate, without offsetting

  • GECA and Declare Red List Free certified

  • Every m² installed contributes to restoring Australia's natural biodiversity
